Think Pink
September 30, 2008
October is breast cancer awareness month. Jewelry designer Jane Basch believes in thinking pink all year long. Her “Tribute” collection symbolizes the importance of thinking positive even under the direst of circumstances. Basch explains, “Leading a happy and healthy life is just as much mental as physical. Thinking pink all year long reminds us of the women we love, the women we lost, and the women we aspire to be.” Five percent of the purchase of each piece in the “Tribute” collection will be donated to the Susan G. Komen “For the Cure” Foundation.

Designer Christian Tse introduces The Prismatic Timepiece Collection, retro digital watches encrusted with diamonds, tsvorites, amethysts, sapphires, and other gems. It took eighteen months of research to design and patent an LED movement bright enough to shine through the gems, which traditional LEDs can’t do. Next up, consumers will be able to design and customize their own Prizmatic timepieces on Tse’s website.

Hoop Dreams
September 26, 2008
Hoop earrings are growing larger, bolder, and more bohemian every time we turn around. Look for unusual shapes (oval, square, knife-edge) and openwork details for a larger but lighter look. The challenge with this wearable classic is to capture its essence while still standing out in a crowd. These 18K gold and diamond “Sweet Pea” hoops from Laurie Kaiser will do the trick.
