Etsy is an online marketplace for buying and selling all things handmade.

They want to enable people to make a living making things--jewelry, art, clothing, furniture, and more. I’m interested in buying directly from artists. Has anyone used this site? Can recommend? Check it out at Etsy.com.

I sell artistan jewelry on Etsy and I think it’s a great site.  Just check the seller’s feedback before you buy (just like Ebay).  I found the artists there to be very nice and attentive.  If you want another site that’s like Etsy, there’s one called Dawanda.  I have my pieces there too.  It’s a little more international.

Yeah I’ve Heard about it. They sell many things except for jewelry. However i didn’t see much of variety in their collections. But one advantage is that you could look for many items too.

I’ve ordered from Etsy before.  I rec’d a huge gf pearl nose screw.  Then I ordered another nose screw with a pink pearl.  This one was silver wire and too small.  The wire turned a dark color a month later.  It’s hard buying jewelry off of the www.  Etsy is good for knit goods and other hand made items.
